Maison Dutier is the story of two friends, Marc and François, who founded their house in 2021 in Rennes. Their idea was to reinvent a very codified drink, Gin. Aware of environmental issues, the product had to be made with local and organic products. The task was not easy, and it was the innovative idea of using hemp that was chosen. Hemp is used in many fields such as textiles and construction. However, hemp has an aromatic palette as complex as the rose with terpenes between 200 and 500. Terpenes are organic compounds responsible for the different odors and flavors of plants. You will find unique flavors in particular on citrus, clove, pine… Hemp is also an ecological plant due to its water requirement 10 times less than cotton, and its high yield. Maison Dutier works in vintages because each year the weather differs and therefore the hemp plant can give slightly different flavors. Hemp is a controversial plant due to its psychotropic substances, but rest assured there is 0% THC and 0% CBD in this gin. Newlands Gin is the first French gin made with hemp and with ingredients from organic farming. The distillery is convinced that it is by using quality ingredients that it will produce a drink that has flavor and meaning.
