Historical creator of the first Breton Pommeau (December 1986), Guy LE LAY first made it known under the name “Apéritif des Menhirs” then that of “Pommeau des Menhirs”
The Breton Pommeau is distinguished from its Norman cousin by a more pronounced structure and tannic character. Another difference is that it has a higher sugar content (123 g/litre instead of 108 g/litre). Production is controlled by the exploitation of 40 hectares of orchards.
The distillery's AOC Pommeaux are to date the most awarded in Brittany
