Lamas Verus, a Brazilian whisky made exclusively from malted barley, is double distilled in a copper pot still. The distillery's unique location in the south-east of the country, with its tropical climate, followed by 5 to 6 years of aging in 200l bourbon barrels, followed by a 6-month maturation in port-type wine casks, gives this whisky a smoothness, balance, and a beautiful length on the palate. You'll experience notes of flowers, honey, almonds, sweet spices, vanilla, tannins, and oak. This whisky is non-chill filtered.

Bouche :

Equilibrée sur les tannins, le cacao, les épices douces.

Brazil is the largest country in Latin America, a land of multiple contrasts with no fewer than five different climates that can vary radically from one state to another. Brazil comes from the Portuguese word Brasil, meaning the ember-colored wood of a tropical tree in the country. It is here that a family of passionate distillers, passed down from father to son, established a distillery a few years ago. This distillery is located in the southeast of the country, in the Minas Gerais region of Belo Horizonte.

This geographical location makes it the highest altitude distillery in the country, and benefits from a tropical climate that is both humid and warm all year round. Historically producers of cachaças, they now devote themselves to whisky production, and remain the first and only house to distill, age, bottle and export their whisky. The traditional Scottish production by a double distillation in copper pot still, produces a juice with an alcohol content of 70°/72°, and a fruity and gourmet whisky after aging. For this last part, in order to give all the typicity of this Brazilian single malt, the distillery calls on a master cooper who selects local tropical wood species.

To avoid damaging the Brazilian forest, the wood used for the barrels is certified as sustainably sourced by certified companies. The Balsamo essence, also known locally as "Caburé," gives herbaceous and spicy notes. Unlike the Putumuju essence, a macaw tree in homage to the colorful parrots, which gives herbaceous and earthy notes. Lamas single malts are available to you to help you appreciate the distinctiveness and richness of the "Brazil" heritage.
