The Distillerie des Menhirs , pioneer of 100% buckwheat whisky, begins its journey in the Burgundy region . Eddu - Travel diary - Burgundy is the alliance between the Breton terroir and Burgundy . It is in Corton Grand Cru barrels, from the "Maréchaudes" climates of the Maison Capitain-Gagnerot, that an EDDU already 5 years old is refined for 3 additional years .

These Côtes de Beaune casks , imbued with the aromatic richness of Burgundy, give EDDU whisky a new complexity , a rare patina. Eddu Burgundy cask is both rich and refined, where the roundness of buckwheat is enriched with deep notes of red fruits, undergrowth and noble spices. A subtle alchemy, which will seduce the most curious palates as well as enlightened amateurs.

Bouche :

Final :

Une belle longueur en bouche.

Whisky EDDU – “Travel Diaries”

Stopover No. 1: Côtes de Beaune – Finished in Corton Grand Cru “Les Maréchaudes” barrels

Every great house has its secrets, every spirit has its roots. With its unique Travel Journals collection, the Distillerie des Menhirs opens a new chapter in its history: one of exploration, of dialogue between exceptional terroirs, and of the encounter between two living heritages.

The first stop takes us to Burgundy, to the noble lands of the Côtes de Beaune , and more precisely to a legendary hillside: the Maréchaudes climate , cradle of one of the greatest red wines of the region. It is here that Maison Capitain-Gagnerot , founded in 1802, patiently develops its wines, according to a wine-growing tradition that respects the soil, the weather and the vine.

Sharing this same artisanal philosophy, the Distillerie des Menhirs chose these unique casks—steeped in years of vinification of a Corton Grand Cru —to rest its buckwheat whisky, EDDU. A bold, patient, and meticulous finish, like a sensory correspondence between Brittany and Burgundy.

As the months go by, the wood opens up, the wine gives up its memories, and the whisky transforms. It absorbs the soul of the vineyard, its silky tannins, its aromas of deep red fruits, its notes of undergrowth and noble spices. The alchemy operates – subtle, elegant – revealing a cuvée of rare complexity , where the Breton material is adorned with the colors of the Côte d'Or.

A travel whisky, but rooted.
A terroir whisky, but adventurous.
A first stopover full of promise.
