EDDU Whisky – Finished in Saint-Émilion casks from Château Rol-Valentin

A story of encounters, lands… and patience.

It's a story that begins like a novel, between the pages of an old travel journal and the cobblestones of a medieval city, nestled in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards. During his studies, one of the three Le Lay sons – the founding family of the EDDU distillery – discovered Saint-Émilion, this jewel of history and traditions, whose beauty stands out with the quiet strength of places inhabited for centuries.

In this setting imbued with silence and golden stones, a friendship is born. It binds this curious young Breton to Nicolas Robin, a passionate winemaker and master of the Château Rol-Valentin, alongside his wife Alexandra. Together, they share a taste for a job well done, authenticity, and a sincere love for their respective lands.

From this encounter was born a bold challenge: to create a dialogue between the aromas of an exceptional Breton whisky and barrels steeped in the great wines of Saint-Émilion. At Château Rol-Valentin, the vintages mature slowly, watched over in the cellar like secrets too precious to be rushed. It is in this setting that EDDU whisky now rests. There, it finds a noble refuge, perfect for transformation.

Slowly, over the months, it absorbs the memory of wine: elegant woody notes, aromas of black fruits, leather, and a subtle tannic complexity enrich its already refined palette. This whisky takes its time, and that's a good thing. Because every moment spent in these casks is a promise of depth and finesse.

EDDU Finition Saint-Émilion is much more than a whisky: it is a combination of expertise, a bridge between two terroirs, an invitation to savor the passing of time... in the glass.
